Introduction
ExplorerVR: Oil Platform is a VR Application that provide a Virtual Tour Experience where the user played and explore the role of a Chemical Engineer onboard an Offshore Oil Production Platform (Commonly known as Oil Rig).

You (User) are an University student currently studying in Chemical Engineering in Oil & Gas. But due to Covid & Oil Crisis, It is hard to find job during these time and want to switch your major. Luckily, Shell company looking for volunteer for an intern job offering onboard their newer Offshore Platform. So, you packed your stuff and go with high hopes.

Project Details
Problem Statement
Students are less interested in STEM Career Path. Lack of time and resources in current education system. Lack of Access to STEM Education location such as Museums or Career exhibition. Thus, having less expose to those kinds of career choices. For the Company perspective, they need to plan and organize to promote such events which can be time consuming and costly for them.

Objectives
To help students to be Interested and understand the benefits of STEM Career path.

Project Goal
To give a Virtual Tour experience of an Chemical Engineer onboard an Offshore Platform from the comfort of their home.

Target Audience
13~15 Middle School who are curious and interested in using VR as an alternative to the tour visit and understand about STEM topic.

  Semester VIII: Virtual Reality Project 2 ExplorerVR: Oil Platform Environment Design Process As the application title suggested, the environment of course take place onboard an offshore platform or oil rig. We wanted the user to be able to explore the  3D Environment of an  Offshore Platform without actually needed to go one, so the design has to be accurate and details but not too much or else it was take too long to model. The gameplay experience will be short anyway so there's no need to create a large area that they won't have time to explore anyway. This also will be easier for us to guide the user to the parts that we want to show and educate them about how offshore platform works in general and what the workers onboard are tasked so they can expect what kind of career or lifestyle they will have.
